Vip fund has 300 million euros of agreed investments
Fund for the support of investments in Vojvodina (Vip) has agreed projects worth 300 million euros, out of which most should be made in 2009, as it was stated today (December, 29, 2008) by the Fund’s Chairman, Branislav Bugarski.
At the press conference in Novi Sad, Bugarski said that this should be final number of agreed investments, and that it was not certain that all of them would be finalized during 2009.
He expressed his hope that by 2010 most of them would be realized, as it would open up new working places.
- In this year, we supported investment projects in which around 1.500 people got a job. We agreed projects worth around 300 million euros, and this gives us hope that they would be made in the next year, said Vip Fund’s Chairman.
As the largest success of Vip Fund in 2008, Bugarski named the investment of the company “Draexlmaier” in Zrenjanin, in which 1.350 workers got jobs.
The largest agreed project was with the Danish company “Grunfos” for construction of pumps factory worth 80 million euros, and this greenfield investment should take place in 2009, with openning of around 500 new positions.
Bugarski pointed the decision of metal-processing company, “Maksim” from Celj, which is already building a factory in Indjija, to buy off another 5 hectares of land, and to invest additional 12-15 million euros, and hire 250 workers more.
According Bugarski, the primary goal of Vip Fund is to contribute to maintenance of around 55.000 working places, how much foreign investors opened up in Vojvodina through realization of projects worth around 4 billion euros.
In 2009, there will be organized 20 presentations of investment potential in Vojvodina.
