After a nearly ten-year break, Serbian producers are returning to the Fancy Food Show in New York. This June, nine local producers will head for America. They will present a wide variety of flavors in the Big Apple – from raw honey and truffles from Vojvodina, fruit from Arilje, cheese from Fruska Gora, forest mushroom spreads, to fruit products from Pozega.

The selection of producers was carried out by the USAID, and Color Press Group also took part in the organization of the visit of Serbian producers to the food show.

– This is an opportunity for customers from all over the world to be properly introduced to Serbian products. We tried to have have producers from all parts of Serbia and to have the widest variety of food possible – said the director of Color Press, Robert Coban.

Fancy Food Show will be held from June 30 till July 2 in New York and the local producers Happy Honey, Vrtlari, Friski Jazacki Sir, Truff Truff, Stanisic Bio, Moje Gnezdo, Granum Suncokret and Slatka Jesen will present their products there.

Summer Fancy Food New York showcases a wide range of innovative products each year, offering possibilities for connecting with food industry experts thanks to its interactive character. In addition to presenting their products, Serbia producers can also get new ideas and witness the latest technology in gastronomy and attend numerous educational seminars and tasting sessions at this global fair. Meetings with other exhibitors are possible as well.

Branislav Sekulic of Vrtlari says for eKapija that Fancy Food is a great opportunity that he hopes everyone will use through a common presentation.

– This is an opportunity for us to penetrate another market. I export my products to Canada, Switzerland,, Montenegro, Macedonia and Croatia for now. We have signed an agreement with a Chinese company and we will soon start exporting there – Sekulic explains for our portal.

Ivana Panovic of Slatka Jesen says for our portal that she is very grateful that small producers have been recognized “as a new profession in the Serbian economy”. She also believes that this opportunity will be used by all producers.

Happy Honey is a healthy sweet spread made of raw, unheated honey, cold pressed with natural ingredients: organic ginger, organic cocoa, raspberry, apricot and plum. After achieving great success in Serbia, where this young team penetrated local store chains and health food stores in only six months thanks to its innovations, the products of this Belgrade-based startup were also made available as part of the regular offer of one of the oldest and most renowned departments stores in the world, Jelmoli in Zurich. Happy Honey says that they expect more people to hear about their brand after the New York show.

The details of the presentation of Serbian producers at the Fancy Food Show will also be discussed at Food Talk 2018, which will be held on June 8 at Hotel Sheraton Novi Sad.

– We will once again have very interesting participants at Food Talk, with guests coming from the region, and some world-famous chefs will be present as well. We will also present the producers which will take part in the event in New York – Coban added.
