Construction of new Vinca landfill to begin in 2018 – City negotiating with Chinese company about construction of waste water treatment facility

The construction of a facility in Vinca in which solid municipal waste will be processed and from which we will produce electrical energy, will begin by the end of this year, Mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali stated yesterday.

– The investment is worth EUR 300 million, the agreement was signed last year, whereas the necessary documentation is expected to be completed next year. This will be the final solution to a big problem – Mali said, as reported by Beoinfo.

He also added that the negotiations with a Chinese company about the construction of a waste water treatment facility in Veliko Selo were in progress.

– These are strategic things and, after these projects are realized, Belgrade will be an entirely different city ecologically in a few years – Mali said.

He added that people needed to be educated so that the occurrence of illegal landfills would be prevented.
