"Telekom Srbija" is planning to invest around 21 billion dinars during 2009, in development of the technology and services, which is similar level of the last year, but it is also possible that this amount will be decreased, it was stated by Ljubomir Rajsic from Telekom.
According to data Rajsic announced at the assembly in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, "Telekom" has invested around 21,6 billion dinars in this year, out of which around 12 billion dinars in fixed telephony, around 7,5 billion dinars in mobile telephony, and around 3 billion dinars in multimedia technologies.
Also, one of the largest investment of Telekom has been introduction of ADSL connectors, and construction of about 1.000 km of optical cables, as well as installation of long distance conference systems 'Telepresence' at four locations, and finally introduction of television through internet protocole (IPTV).
- For 2009, the same paste of investments is being planned, but recently we have received the order to check all on going projects and to continue only those which were found necessary - said Rajsic, adding that in this moment he could not tell how would that affect the plans.
For 2009, it is planned to invest around 12 billion dinars in fixed telephony, around 5 billion dinars in mobile telephony, 2 billion dinars in informational technologies, and 1,3 billion dinars in multimedia technologies.
According to data, the funds include introduction of about 200.000 ADSL connectors, used for internet and IPTV, then construction of more than 950 km of optical cables, reduction of double numbers to 100.000 users, and digitalization of the network up to 97%.
