Campaign for boosting number of Chinese tourists – TOS seeking PR associate in Far East

Although the number of Chinese tourists is rising, the Tourism Organization of Serbia seeks to further strengthen the promotion of Serbia in this market. To that end, a tender for PR services for the Chinese market has been opened.

The bidders, as said in the ad, are expected to cooperate with the media, to organize group and individual visits of media and tour-operators to Serbia, to organize two promotional events, one in Shanghai and another in Beijing, to support the organization of presentations at the leading fairs in China, to regularly update the database of Chinese tour-operators which offer Serbia as a travel destination and to maintain social network profiles of the NTOS.

The TOS has organized study visits by Chinese journalists before. In late March, in cooperation with Etihad Airways and UCAR (a rent-a-car company from China), it invited key media from China, including radio presenters, influencers, travel writers and bloggers to a so-called self-driving tour in Serbia, which entails unaccompanied car tours of the country.


Let us remind that, since January 2017, an agreement with China on the abolition of visas has been in effect, allowing the citizens of the two countries to visit and stay within the territory of the other country without a visa for up to 30 days.

According to the data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, 51,691 arrivals of Chinese tourists was recorded in 2017 and they had 94.845 overnight stays.
