Slovenia has signed a five-year agreement with Russia's Gazprom on gas delivery and praised the cooperation with Moscow, despite the Syrian crisis.

The agreement envisages the import of around 600 million cubic meters of gas to Slovenia a year, and the value of the agreement has not been made public, AP says.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Karl Erjavec said that the agreement was important for the Slovenian economy.

– Slovenia and Russia have a good cooperation, despite complex international relations – Erjavec said, as reported by STA.

Although an EU member, Slovenia maintains friendly relations with Russia, citing historical and cultural ties as the reason.
