In a hive of ideas – eKapija at Schneider Electric Innovation Summit in Paris

This April, Paris was once again greener than usual. The flags of Schneider Electric, the sponsor of the traditional Paris Marathon, flew down the Champs-Elysees, but also throughout the city, announcing a new spectacle. On the morning of April 4, the city welcomed us in a ceremonial mood, preparing for the upcoming race... Still, our reason for the visit was even more interesting.

Shortly before the big marathon, the old French charmer also found itself the capital of innovations. Schneider Electric, one of the global leaders in digital transformation of energy management and automatization, organized the Innovation Summit on April 5 and 6. Over 5,000 partners, clients, influencers and representatives of media from all over the world gathered at Expo Porte de Versailles. This time, eKapija also had the opportunity to become a part of the great hive of innovators!

It was clear even before we set out that the organization will be impeccable, regardless of the remarkably large number of lectures, demonstrations, meetings and discussions, as well as the great number of journalists arriving from several dozen countries. The organizer had made sure to notify all the participants of the agenda on time and to allocate codes enabling us to access all content, organize the scheduling of interviewees, present participants to us and also provide us with the special Schneider Electric Innovation Summit mobile app.

This year's Innovation Summit world tour (the second one ever) encompassed 20 events worldwide – twice as many as in 2017. The central event in Paris was the biggest event of Schneider Electric so far, at which the latest achievements of the EcoStruxure platform were presented. SE experts and leading world experts in this industry gathered at the Paris fair in order to share experiences about the possibilities of launching a digital economy.

EcoStruxure uses advances made in the IoT, mobility, sensors, the cloud technology, analytics and cyber-security in order to secure innovativeness in various segments – from connected products, to apps, analytics and services. So far, EcoStruxure has been implemented in over 480,000 installations, with the support of 20,000 system integrators, connecting over 1.5 million assets.

Our first impression was: “These people truly love what they do!” The amount of positive energy, the friendly tone of this otherwise very serious business event, the readiness of directors and managers of Scheinder's various sectors from all over the world to give statements, provide all the necessary clarifications, but also to have photographs taken and to have informal conversations with all the participants in the event, made the Summit a joyous affair.

– The world is changing at an unprecedented rate driven by a booming digital economy. Technologies such as the Internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence and big data analytics are making companies more efficient and innovative, boosting their competitive advantage – said Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman and CEO of Schneider Electric, in his introductory speech

– As a responsible industry leader, we need to demonstrate how our innovations help our customers and partners make a successful digital transformation in energy management and automation. Our technologies, built on EcoStruxure, harness the power of digitization, enabling our customers to become more efficient, safe, reliable, connected and sustainable – leaders in the New Digital Economy – Tricoire said.

During the two-day event, customers could attend Strategy Talks on topics as varied as “Redefining power distribution”, “Intuitive manufacturing, thanks to digitization” and “Reinvented buildings.” The company also conducted 15+ Expert Learning Sessions with its customers and partners, delivering concrete customer successes and solutions and interactive discussions between participants.

A 5,000 m2 Innovation Hub demonstrated the wealth of Schneider Electric’s software, solutions and services. This Hub also housed a Partner Village featuring the company’s network of technology partners and start-ups.

Three major EcoStruxure developments were announced at this global premiere – EcoStruxure Power: the next generation of Schneider Electric’s IoT-Enabled platform and architecture for electrical distribution, EcoStruxure Building: a smart, collaborative platform and architecture designed for buildings, and EcoStruxure Asset Advisor: the new version of Schneider Electric’s equipment monitoring services application, which brings a much-needed cloud-based, data-driven 24/7 predictive service for business continuity in electrical distribution and critical data center assets.

In the upcoming days, eKapija will present more details about these innovations.
