Germany’s ZF Friedrichshafen planning construction of plant in Pancevo – EUR 85 million to be invested in initial phase by 2021
As the city’s website reports, the City Council has decided to let the company use the building land in the North Industrial-Business-Production Zone of 10.8 hectares without compensation.
The project would be realized in stages, with the first stage realized in the period from 2019 till 2021. It will encompass the construction of facilities with 25,000 square meters and the employment of 540 people.
The total investment would amount to close to EUR 40 million in 2019, around EUR 25 million in 2020 and EUR 20 million in 2021.
The second stage would entail the expansion of the production from Phase 1. As the website reports, it is planned for the period from 2022 and it entails the obtaining of 9.2 hectares of undeveloped construction land, the construction of another 25,000 m2 of facilities and new employments – up to 800-1,000 employees in total.
The plant will produce axles for electric gears for E-Mobility for Premium OEM, electric traction engines for E-Mobility, gearshift electronics and mechatronics, as well as microswitches/PCB.
As RTV Pancevo reports, more than 500 citizens of Pancevo will earn a net salary of at least EUR 450-500 a month at the factory, and the construction should start in July.
