Mandatory use of stamps abolished – Sales and purchase of digital products with foreign exchange facilitated
Public administration bodies, organizations with public authorizations and public enterprises founded by the Republic of Serbia are ordered to amend their internal acts and forms proscribing the mandatory use of stamps in business activities within 30 days.
This changes the practice of the mandatory use of stamps, which was not based on the law, but was being implemented due to a large number of regulations adopted, it is said on the website of the Government of Serbia.
The said reform is in line with the government’s program of modernization of operations, which will also influence the further progress of Serbia on the World Bank’s Doing Business list.
Decisions in line with which the citizens of Serbia will be able to buy and sell digital products among themselves using foreign exchange were also adopted.
To clarify, as defined by the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Foreign Exchange Operations, online purchase of software and other digital products traded exclusively through telecommunications, digital or IT devices has been enabled.
The condition is for the payment to be made with a payment card or electronic money through providers of payment services based in Serbia.
Thanks to these amendments, citizens of Serbia will no longer have to found companies abroad for this purpose. Instead, they will be able to run their digital business from Serbia for clients from the world and with a single foreign exchange price for everyone, without fearing potential violation of law in case their digital product is bought by another Serbian resident.
The amendments also enable donations from abroad through foreign e-money services, such as Paypal.
