Air Serbia gives up on purchasing new Airbus planes?
In 2013, Air Serbia announced the arrival of ten Airbus aircraft of a new generation, A320NEO, to its fleet. The airline said at the time that it would give around a million dollars for them and that the airplanes would start arriving in 2018. The plan was for Air Serbia to replace all the old planes it used to rent before 2020.
Danas has contacted Air Serbia's press service, but they haven't responded to the questions about the procurement of Airbus' A320NEO since January.
The Belgrade-based newspaper reminds that the five-year managerial agreement with Etihad, under which it runs the company, although it has only a minority stake in Air Serbia, expires this autumn. Allegedly, a new agreement has not yet been requested.
