Arriva Group, one of the leading pan-European provider of passenger transport services, realized a growth of income by 4.9% in 2017, which brought the company total revenues exceeding EUR 5.3 billion. This growth enabled Arriva to invest close to EUR 40 million in the enhancement of the passenger transport services in all 14 countries in which it is present, including Serbia, in which the company has been operating for five years.

The company Arriva Litas is one of the biggest bus transporters in Serbia, with 320 buses, 880 employees and 19.3 million kilometers traveled a year. In 2017, the company realized new investments, thereby strengthening the basis for further growth and development, Arriva announced.

– In the previous year, we continued to enhance the quality of our services in order to make them more comfortable and attractive for passengers. We have employed more than 100 people, expanded the rolling stock with 7 new city vehicles and 2 tourist vehicles and commissioned the first vehicle featuring the EURO 6 engine produced in Serbia. To the end of strengthening the development of local communities in which we operate, we renovated the bus station in Pozarevac and set aside funds for a new project in the city – the construction of a new business facility and a traffic route, planned for this year – pointed out Dejan Bogunovic, general manager of Arriva Litas in Serbia.

Arriva operates within Deutsche Bahn Group, the leading world provider of transport and logistics services, which is present in over 130 countries, has 300,000 employees and realizes around 4,2 billion travels a year.

Manfred Rudhart, CEO of Arriva Group, pointed out that 2017 was a year of growth, innovation and creating exceptional value for clients.

– We continued to build on our successes, investing heavily to improve the quality of our services to make them more convenient and attractive for our passengers. This included the introduction of journey planning apps, contactless ticketing systems, and new web and app-based ticket retailing platforms – Rudhart says.

Arriva Group also realized significant results in the Netherlands, Great Britain, Poland, Slovakia, Croatia and Switzerland in 2017, the press release says.
