“Delta Maxi group” has opened a new supermarket in Vidin, Bulgaria, and that is the 17th retail facility from market chain “Piccadilly”, which was bought by Delta in 2007.

The supermarket at 2,500 square meters, worth 2m EUR, offers 18,000 articles to the buyers and it is situated within the shopping mall in Vidin, the city at the very border with Serbia.

The CEO of Piccadilly, Aleksandar Čamparević, said that “Delta Maxi group” wanted the leadership role in Bulgaria and, therefore, the group had invested about 16m EUR and created over 500 jobs in 2008. During the first nine months, the turnover grew by 30% against the same period in 2007.

According to the plan, another 20 Piccadilly and Piccadilly Express facilities should be opened by the end of year 2009.
