Office for IT and eGovernment candidate for prestigious world award
The Office for IT and eGovernment has placed among the top 90 in the competition of 685 applicants and 492 nominated projects of governmental institutions, companies and organizations of the civilian society from all over the world. It is nominated in the category of creating a good environment for the development of an information society and is currently fifth by the number of votes, of the total of one million submitted online.
Representatives of the Office for IT and eGovernment will attend the official pronouncement of the winners at the WSIS Forum, to be held in Geneva on March 20.
An expert jury will pronounce the winners, which have enhanced their environment in an innovative manner, using new technologies, thereby making important progress towards achieving the global goals of the United Nations in the sphere of the information society.
As announced, this year, the WSIS Forum will bring together 85 ministers and over 200 representatives of governments, NGOs, directors of ICT companies, educational institutions and individuals, the press release says.
