Rimac Automobili to build factory in China
Rimac will invest the know-how and EUR 5 million in the e-engine and battery plant, worth USD 158.2 million, and will receive 40% of the ownership.
The outcome is not surprising given that Mate Rimac himself recently stated that China made for over 80% of their production.
Furthermore, this is in fact the realization of the plan announced back in September 2017, when the Chinese Camel Group confirmed that it intended to invest EUR 30 million in Rimac Automobili and Greyp Bikes, another company owned by Rimac.
The agreement entails the purchase of the B-series of preferred shares. Camel has confirmed that they have signed a framework agreement on an investment in the company. More precisely, they will invest EUR 27 million in Rimac Automobili and EUR 3 million in Greyp.
Rimac Automobili, a Croatian company producing components and providing designing services for clients such as Aston Martin Lagonda and Koenigsegg Automotive, has tripled its value since 2014 and is currently estimated at over EUR 200 million.
