Export contracted at Dubai food fair exceeds EUR 2 million

The companies from Serbia which presented their offer at the international food fair Gulfood Dubai for the first time, in the organization of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and the Development Agency of Serbia, have contracted exporting jobs worth over EUR 2 million. Representatives of Serbian companies held over 430 bilateral talks and meetings with potential partners for the UAE, other countries of the Middle East and other states interested in importing food from Serbia, the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia announced.

The national stand of Serbia was very well visited, and potentials partners from Dubai, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Canada, Nairobi, India, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, China and South Korea showed the most interest in importing food from Serbia, the press release adds.

The CCIS and the DAS organized the first presentation of 10 Serbian companies at Gulfood from February 18 through 22, 2018.

In one of the main halls of the Trade Centre Arena & Sheikh Saeed Halls, Yumis, Jaffa, Bahus, Agranela, Agropartner, ITN Group, Master Fruits, PIK Becej and Basket Zdravija Hrana Made By Hand – Golubinci presented their offer. In addition to the exhibitors, the CCIS also organized the visit of six Serbian companies to the fair – Frueko, Sensa, ML Fruit Farm, Zlatiborac, Zitoprerada and Frikom.


Serbian businessmen visited the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and learned about the conditions of doing business in this Emirate, especially in the sector of food and drinks. They also held bilateral meetings with the leading distributors and retail chains in the UAE, such as LuLu, Choithrams and Al Maya.

Gulfood is one of the biggest and most important specialized food shows in the UAE and the Gulf region, within which meetings between producers, exporters, distributors and representatives of the leading retail chains are organized. The fair spreads on 100,000 m2. This year, it attracted over 90,000 visitors from around 100 countries, who had the opportunity to learn about the production programs of more than 5,000 exhibitors in eight sectors, the CCIS press release adds.
