Of the 9,000 old and environmentally unsafe bulbs in the City of Kraljevo, which consume a lot of electrical energy, over 4,000 were replaced last year.

As the official city website reports, the project value amounts to RSD 320 million, and the Government of Slovenia provided 30% of the amount as grants to the City of Kraljevo.

Thanks to Slovenia's donation of EUR 846,000, that is, more than RSD 100 million, for energy efficiency, old and used-up mercury-vapor lamps were replaced with LED lighting in Kraljevo.

– The replacement was carried out in all parts of the city where there were old mercury-vapor lamps, mostly in suburban neighborhoods and village areas. In line with the contract we signed in late January 2018, we will replace another 2,000 lamps – Mayor of Kraljevo Predrag Terzic explained.

Lumenia, which supplied the equipment for the replacement of lighting in Kraljevo, produces and sells LED lighting and is present in 23 countries. It has opened an office in Belgrade, and its next step, according to the sales manager, Bostjan Judez, is to open a production facility in order to facilitate and improve its operations in the region, the website of the City of Kraljevo reports.
