The biggest Indian airline IndiGo sees potential in the Serbian market in the near future, the company said after announcing their plans for expansion in Europe.

As the company told EX-YU Aviation News, IndiGo has already had talks with the Serbian government.

– We plan to continue these talks and explore opportunities to serve the market sometime in the future, in order to offer affordable and unmatched travel experience to passengers between India and Serbia.

The parent company InterGlobe is also interested in providing a connection between the two countries because of the Indian tourists visiting this region.

– We could secure up to 1.000 passengers per week, maybe even more – InterGlobe's regional representative in Belgrade, Zoran Drazeta, said.

IndiGo announced that it planned to procure at least fifty wide-body aircraft, and its fleet currently consists of 158 planes.

Let us remind that Serbia has recently abolished visas for citizens of India and that a new agreement on air transport has been signed with India, facilitating the launch of flights between Serbia and India.
