The Aleksandar Nikolic Hall, former Pionir, will be reconstructed during 2019, eKapija learns from SRC Tasmajdan.
Let us remind that the hall was equipped with LED lighting last year, when the works on expanding the capacities were announced for 2018. However, the work schedule will be dictated by property-legal relations, meaning that they won’t start before 2019.
The public invitation for the preparation of project documentation for the main design of the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall is in progress.
– The dynamics of the reconstruction are conditioned on the work that needs to be done before the project starts and which primarily pertains to resolving the property-legal relations regarding the facility in question – SRC Tasmajdan explains to eKapija.
– After the property-legal relations are resolved, which is in progress, we will try to reach an agreement with the founder, the City of Belgrade and the Ministry of Youth and Sports about securing the funds necessary for the said reconstruction – SRC Tasmajdan says and adds that a tender for the contractors will be opened afterwards.
The reconstruction of the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall will encompass the expansion of the number of seats on ground floor B and ground floor 4, full replacement of seats on the stands, replacement of telescopic stands and scoreboards.
– The works will be carried out within the existing proportions of the hall and will primarily pertain to the court and the area around it – SRC Tasmajdan says.
Once the reconstruction is completed, the number of seats will be increased from 6,200 to 9,500.
Let us remind that the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall is the second biggest sports hall in Belgrade, after the Belgrade Arena. It opened in 1973 as Hala Pionir, and was renamed on February 23, 2016, in honor of the basketball player and coach Aleksandar Nikolic.
