Belgrade, Bor and Arandjelovac elections called – Voting to take place on March 4

The president of the National Assembly of Serbia, Maja Gojkovic, scheduled the local election in Belgrade for March 4, RTS reports. Elections will be held in the municipalities of Bor and Arandjelovac on the same date, it is added.

She invited the citizens to vote in large numbers, and she warned the candidates to take the campaign seriously and to honor their political opponents.

The election activities start on the date of the publication of the decision on the calling of the elections in the Official Gazette. The elections will be held in line with the Law on Local Elections, Gojkovic reminded.

– I want to invite the citizens of Belgrade, Arandjelovac and Bor to vote on March 4. These elections are important because they will determine the future of these municipalities – Gojkovic addressed the parliament.

Medical doctor to head Serbian Progressive Party Belgrade list

After much speculation, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced last night that the Serbian Progressive Party list would be headed by Dr Zoran Radojicic, professor at the Faculty of Medicine and the director of the University Clinic in the Tirsova Street. When asked whether Radojicic might become mayor, Vucic said that he wouldn't exclude the possibility.


There are only four party members among the first 25 people on the SPP list: Mayor Sinisa Mali, City Manager Goran Vesic, Deputy Mayor Andreja Mladenovic and the vice-president of the municipality of Savski Venac, Irena Vujovic.

Aja Jung, director of the Belgrade Dance Festival, is second on the list, which also includes the dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr Sima Avramovic, athletes Goran Grbovic, Milan Gurovic, actor Branko Milicevic Kockica, TV host Zika Nikolic (Zika Sarenica)...
