New agreement with Turkey on incentives and protection of investments to be signed in January
Ljajic emphasized that fact that the merchandise trade between the two countries had exceeded the record amount of a billion US dollars in the first 11 months of 2017 as an illustration of improved relations.
– This is 21% more than in 2016, and seeing how a new agreement in incentives and protection of investments, as well as the arrival of new investors from Turkey will be signed this month, an even bigger growth of foreign trade, especially of our export to Turkey, is expected – Ljajic said.
Cavusoglu said that the visit of the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to Serbia and the talks with the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, had opened a new chapter in the relations between the two countries and added that the realization of all the projects agreed during the presidential visit were to start in spring, the competent ministry announced.
At the meeting at the association of businessmen Rumelisiad in Bursa, which brings together business people with origins in the former Yugoslavian territories, Ljajic invited Turkish companies to invest in Serbia and said that Belgrade was becoming the hotspot of investments from Turkey in the Western Balkans region.
