Jagodina to take away land from investors that failed to build plants in Industrial Zone?
The companies in question are Sintec Serbia, which received the land on February 25, 2016, and obliged to employ at least 20 workers, Savio Firmino, which received the land on April 29, 2015, and obliged to employ 50 workers, Blue Wood Energy, which received the land on February 25, 2016, and obliged to employ at least 10 workers and “100 to 150 agriculturists from the territory of Jagodina”, as well as Ittech Triade, which received the land on May 21, 2015, and obliged to employ at least 60 workers.
The City Council of Jagodina, which adopted this decision, and which is to be decided on by the City Assembly at the session scheduled for Monday, January 15, told Tanjug that this was “the revocation of the decision on the alienation of property in favor of investors without compensation through a direct agreement along with a feasibility study”.
– The investors obliged to provide a banking guarantee in the amount determined by an estimate by the state tax authority in favor of the City of Jagodina, to employ workers from the moment of starting the activities, to start building the facility no later than six months from the signing of the agreement, to have the facility completed within two years and not to alienate the facility for at least three years from the beginning of the production – the City Council explains.
– Considering that these investors failed to meet their obligations, we propose to the City Assembly to revoke the decision of having the land given to investors without compensation – the City Council points out.
