The Municipality of Ruma and the Slovenian consortium Kolektor today signed an agreement on the preparation of a design and the construction of a waste water treatment facility for Industrial Zone Rumen, as reported on the website of the Municipality of Ruma.

The president of the Municipality of Ruma, Sladjan Mancic, says that he hopes that the construction will be completed by the end of 2018 and adds that the waste water treatment facility will be located on a 0.4 ha parcel, that it will be meant primarily for the company Hutchinson, while being available to other investors in Industrial Zone Rumen as well.

– We obliged to take upon ourselves the construction of the waste water treatment facility during our negotiations about the arrival of the French investor in Ruma. This is a synchronized action by the state, which supports us and provides the Municipality of Ruma with RSD 100 million through the Ministry of Economy. The land was previously assigned to us by the Property Directorate of the Republic of Serbia for this purpose – he said.

Mancic added that “the efforts put into this are justified, as Hutchinson is beginning to build the fifth and the sixth plant, and it already employs about 700 people and pays good salaries”.

– Of course, the waste water treatment facility will be available to other companies in this zone – Albon, Calzedonia, Insert and new companies, which are yet to build their facilities – Mancic said and added that the Slovenian consortium would hire local companies as subcontractors.

The director of Kolektor, Jernej Hrovat, noted that his company was one of the strongest consortia in Slovenia and that it had a rich experience in such jobs.

– Your work zone and investors will get a modern facility which will be able to expand its capacities depending on the needs, thereby following the investment development. Environmental protection will be optimal and I expect us to successfully complete all the jobs within this project by the end of the year – Hrovat pointed out.
