Italy's Ondaplast has bought the facility of the former Metro Cash and Carry distribution center in Subotica, where it plans to open a plastic product factory.

As Mayor of Subotica Bogdan Laban announced for Magyar Szo, the company will start operating in the free zone regime this August, and the plan is for a hundred workers to be employed.

That is when the reconstruction of the 10,000-m2 facility and the subsequent installation of equipment for the production of plastic items of various sizes and shapes should be completed. The products include fruit and vegetable baskets, bottle crates, packing boxes, refrigerator back panels and other items of various shapes and purposes.

Ondaplast is another Italian investor in Subotica. Let us remind that Caminada is currently building a factory in Free Zone Mali Bajmok, planning to invest EUR 5 million and employ 120 people over the next five years.
