Yumco sets aside EUR 1 million for purchase of machines – Plan includes realization higher by 70% compared to 2017
Yumco's capacities were engaged in the production of uniforms for the armies of Germany, Finland and Italy, and they produced thread for their German and Swiss partners.
The company's management announces even better results in 2018, considering that the jobs have been contracted for the entire year, and the realization is therefore expected to be 70% higher than in 2017.
Due to increased workload, the company has opened a job contest for experienced textile workers and those who are to be trained in the Konfekcija facility.
– In the past year, the biggest investment of this Vranje-based producer was in the Balistika facility. The first shipment of ballistics equipment was delivered to the Ministry of Defense. This February, the facility will also start producing for foreign clients. A lot has been invested in equipment and automation in Yumco's facilities. Investments will continue in 2018 and a million euros has already been set aside for the purchase of machines – says Director General Branislav Trajkovic.
He adds that the strategic plan of Yumco, which should be carried out in 2018, is the realization of the Pre-packaged Reorganization Plan and the formal entry of the company in the Serbian defense industry system.
– The Government of Serbia adopted the PPRP by the decision of December 21. The PPRP invites all the state creditors of Yumco to convert their claims. The company's biggest liabilities are towards state creditors, around 80%. Once the PPRP and the Law on Sale of Arms and Equipment are adopted, Yumco is expected to become a part of the defense industry of Serbia very soon – he said.
