Cooper Tire previously announced an expansion in Krusevac, and concrete plans have now been presented. According to the urban project, which is undergoing public review, the plan is to build a new production hall, rolling mill, raw material storage and finished product storage in Dedina in Krusevac.

The hall for the production of pneumatics for passenger vehicles, along with a head office section is planned in the western part of the complex, including the necessary side features, in the first phase.

The rolling mill is also to be built in the western part of the complex, in the second phase, next to the new production hall. The mixing and the rolling of the raw material for the production of raw rubber compounds will be carried out there. The facility will also feature a production line (“The Tandem Line”) with two mixers.

The raw material storage is to be built in the second phase as well, next to the new production hall, on the south side. The facility is meant for the storage of materials and the pneumatics production purposes, and the process of mixing components for further production would also be carried out there.

In the middle part of the complex, in the third phase, a finished product storage is to be built. The goods will be transported directly by forklifts and truck tractors. Following the delivery of a finished product, some pallets will be sent off directly, while others will remain in the storage with the capacity of 2,164 spaces. A five-tier pallet-stacking storage is planned, according to the urban project.

Cooper Tire produces rubbers for industrial and terrain vehicles and cars and has been operating in Krusevac since 2012, when the company bought the former Trayal Corporation, a car tire factory, and took in around 450 of its workers.
