Apatin port soon to get new look – Tender for preliminary plan for reconstruction opened
As said, the excessively low temperatures in January 2017 caused long stretches of a thick ice layer to form on the Danube. Over a few weeks, the force of the ice partially broke certain port structures, putting it out of commission. Three steel piles, installed along the concrete floats, were either damaged or fully demolished. The project therefore envisages the “cleaning” of the area and the extraction of the broken piles, the damaged concrete floats and the lower bridge construction from the water.
The installation of a steel float construction, instead of a concrete float, is planned this time.
Bids may be submitted by December 27.
