The Japanese company Tasei has developed a special drone with an unusual task – to drive employees who work overtime out of their workplace.

This is a health-adverse and even life threatening habit of Japanese workers, who tend to push overtime to an unreasonable extent as part of the local workers’ ethos.

The drone, called T-Friend, has only one task – to warn employees working past official hours that it is time to go home.

T-Friend will hover around offices, playing Auld Lang Syne, commonly used in Japan to announce shop closing.

Tasei will be renting its product to interested companies at the price of USD 443 a month from 2018.
