The completion of the surgical unit of the Vranje hospital, for which EU has set aside EUR 2.8 million, is expected in 2019, Jugpress reports.

Head of the EU Delegation, Sem Fabrizi, took a tour of the construction works on the completion of the surgical unit of the Vranje hospital and expressed hope that the deadlines for the completion of the modern medical facility would be honored.

Mayor of Vranje Slobodan Milenkovic reminded that, thanks to the funds provided by the European Union, the Government of Serbia and the Swiss government, the works had continued in June 2017.

– We expect the works to be completed in the next twelve to fourteen months and that the city of Vranje and the entire Pcinja District will get a unit fit and necessary for the 21st century – Milenkovic added.

The construction of this unit started in 2002, but stopped 10 years later due to a lack of funds. In the meantime, the guarantees for certain machines expired.
