Employees in the security sector – soldiers, policemen and employees at the Security Intelligence Agency will be paid a bonus of RSD 10,000 by the end of 2017, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on Friday, December 1, 2017.

While visiting the General Staff, he said that a payment of a special bonus in the next two weeks had been agreed with the Government.

– A salary raise of 10% is to follow as well. This is not enough, but it is certainly better than it used to be, and I will soon present the plan for the housing of around 30,000 people together with the Government – Vucic pointed out.

He said that the local arms industry would continue to be the backbone of the armed forces, whereas complex technology would be bought abroad.

The president also announced the purchase of six transport helicopters from Russia, but also negotiations with Belarus and other countries about the purchase of technology, including missile technology.
