The net profit of the Nikola Tesla Airport in the first 10 months of the current year amounted to over RSD 3 billion and is higher by 12% compared to the corresponding period of 2016, says the general manager of the airport, Sasa Vlaisavljevic.

The market value of the airport’s shares, he says, has increased more than three times in the past four years, whereas the airport is now worth over EUR 400 million.

– The airport is one of the most successful companies in the country, with over 2,000 employees, and we are strategically oriented towards constantly enhancing our operations – he pointed out and added that “these results were achieved thanks to a number of strategic moves made by the Government – the reorganization of the operations of the national airline, which has led to an increase in the number of passengers and flights, and constant investments in the development of the airport infrastructure and services, so that our offer would be more attractive than that of the airports in this part of Europe”.

He also says that the Belgrade Airport has undergone structural changes in the past three years to the end of having the capacities utilized in a more functional manner, with the previously neglected and technologically unused space in the middle of the terminal reconstructed and the new terminal zone, T2B, put into operation, among other things.

Furthermore, Vlaisavljevic points out that the airport’s capacity has increased to around 7.5 million passengers a year. The Nikola Tesla Airport expects more than 5.4 million passengers by the end of 2017.

The airport has paid around EUR 30.5 million to the budget of the Republic of Serbia and EUR 6.5 million to small shareholders in the past three years, and it is expected that, depending on the 2017 results, shareholders will be paid at least EUR 16 million in dividends, with a potential increase beginning with 2018.
