Belgrade might soon get an air connection with another city in China, following the launch of the flights between Beijing and the capital of Serbia through Prague this September,
EX-YU Aviation News reports.
The mayor of Belgrade and the head of the Supervisory Board of
Air Serbia, Sinisa Mali, recently stated that he expected the flights to Shanghai, the biggest city in China and its financial center, to be launched “very soon”. The Government of Serbia has also expressed hope that connecting with China will accelerate through the launch of Shanghai flights.
The initial talks with Hainan Airlines, Air China and China Southern Airlines took place last year.
According to
Sabre Airline Solutions, most of the traffic between China and Serbia has been conducted through Shanghai, not Beijing, in the past few years.
