Representatives of the Italian company Innovative Mechanical Milling
(I.M.M.) and the Zrenjanin-based Penfarm signed an agreement on lease of space in the industrial zone Southeast in Zrenjanin on November 9. An agreement on the business-technical cooperation between the Italian company, the Technical Faculty Mihajlo Pupin and the City of Zrenjanin was also signed.
The owner of the Italian company, Mirko Di Tizio, says that I.M.M. deals in precision mechanics in CNC machines, and the mechanical components they produce are used in various sectors – medicine, agriculture and other branches.
He said that twenty people would be employed initially, that the company cooperated with other Italian companies at the moment and that the plan was to also cooperate with companies in the world, the website of the City of Zrenjanin reports.
– We are very satisfied, as we’ve found what we need here in Zrenjanin. Our aim now is to grow and develop together with the employees and the faculty – Di Tizio said.
He said that the production would start soon, and the plan is to start operating at full capacity by New Year. Around EUR 2 million is to be invested in the equipment to be installed at the facilities.
Mayor of Zrenjanin Cedomir Janjic also reminded that an agreement by which Minel had hosted another Italian company
at its vacated facilities had been signed not too long before.
– This is the second such agreement and we will quickly sign a similar one with a Belgian company, which is also to move in to a vacated facility – Janjic added, whereas Dragica Radosav, the dean of the Technical Faculty, said that the agreement was of great importance for the institution and all its study programs.
– We are thereby pushing forward mechanical engineering. Talks with the company’s management have already started, and the chosen master program students should be sent to training at the company’s directorate, near Rome, where they will be practically trained for future work in Zrenjanin – she said.
