The Filipino company IMI, which started raising a factory on the Lozni Kalem location this autumn, will open a job contest in the spring, Mayor of Nis Darko Bulatovic stated.

Bulatovic said on November 7 that around 500 engineers would work at IMI, the opening of which is expected to take place in June 2018.

– IMI employed a certain number of engineers before the construction works began – Bulatovic said and added that the percentage of highly qualified workers would be very high.

Bulatovic reminded that the Filipino company would raise a 14,000-m2 facility and invest EUR 30 million in the first phase of the construction.

According to an earlier statement by the managing director of IMI, Eric De Candido, the car component plant in the Lozni Kalem location at the entrance to Niska Banja will employ over 1,500 people over the next ten years.

In addition to the 14,000-m2 facility, the plan is to also raise facilities with 8,000 m2 and 4,000 m2.
