"Deutsche Bahn" interested in modernization of railway "corridor 10" through Serbia

- German Government is interested in modernization of railway "corridor 10" in Serbia - said Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mlađan Dinkić.

He said that the works on modernization of that corridor should commence in 2010 and he added that the agreement had been reached on future cooperation between "Deutsche Bahn" (German railways) and Serbian railways in field of modernization and drawing of plans for railway "corridor 10".

- German Government is more than interested in modernization of Corridor 10, which connects Europe with Asia. According to the agreement, preparation of the projects should start within next 12 to 14 months - said he.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia also added that it was expected that the agreement between Serbian and German railways would be signed soon and he pointed out that Serbia had obtained 600m EUR worth of donations from Germany over the previous eight years, which is the largest amount of donations that Serbia got from one European country.
