Orbis, the biggest hotel chain in Central and Eastern Europe, has signed an agreement on the master franchise with the hotel group Adagio, whereby it has received the right to manage and develop a network of aparthotels of the Adagio, Adagio Access and Adagio Premium brands. As stated in the official press release, the license covers eight CEE countries, among which are Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.

As part of the granted right to operate aparthotels under the Adagio Brand, Orbis obtained access to all the services, tools, know-how and support. As master franchise carrier, Orbis is entitled to develop the Adagio network through its own hotels or, as the master franchisee, by granting the rights in this regard to third parties, entrepreneurs, investors and hoteliers from the said countries, on the basis of management, subfranchise or license agreements.

The Master Franchise Agreement has been executed for a term of fifteen years with an extension option for successive periods of five years.

Apart-hotel Adagio was founded in 2007 as a joint venture of two hotel groups, Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs and AccorHotels.

– Adagio is the best choice for those looking for the comfort provided by apartments, but featuring all the hotel services for maximum comfort. This is a strong brand which offers a living space rather than a hotel room, a perfect solution for mid- or long-term stays. As a new brand in the Orbis portfolio, Adagio opens new horizons in our development strategy – stated Gilles Clavie, president of the Managing Board and CEO of Orbis S.A.

– Eastern Europe is an important addition to our network. A large number of our current corporate clients have a great need for accommodation in this part of Europe. We are happy that our brand will be represented by Orbis, the biggest hotel chain in Poland and Eastern Europe – says Karim Malak, Deputy CEO of Adagio Group.

Adagio offers apartments in the range from economy to luxury apartments and is known for combining the best characteristics of apartments – comfort, autonomy, spaciousness – with hotel services.

At this moment, Orbis manages a network of 117 hotels and is a strategic partner and the sole carrier of the master franchise of the brands of the French hotel group AccorHotels. It is allowed to develop a network of hotels of the brands Sofitel, Pullman, M Gallery, Novotel, Mercure, ibis, ibis Styles and ibis budget in 16 CEE countries, among which are Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia.

Let us remind that the Orbis Hotel Group opened the Mercure Excelsior hotel in Belgrade this October, in cooperation with Greece's LAMPSA Hellenic Hotels SA.
