The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will soon inspect the operations of the Water Supply and Sanitation Sarajevo enterprise (ViK). In order to look into the business activities of this enterprise, they placed an international tender for the preparation of a financial-operating plan for enhancing the performances several days ago, Dnevni Avaz reports.
The international tender published on the EBRDS website says that ViK and the Canton Sarajevo approached the EBRD with a request to assist in the preparation and financing of a comprehensive water distribution network rehabilitation program, to improve water supply services.
– The overall Project operation will include a EUR 25 million loan from EBRD to the Canton to finance the rehabilitation of the water distribution network in selected areas. The investment program is to support the rehabilitation of identified priority areas within the water distribution network of the ViK Sarajevo system in order to reduce the water leakages through replacement of water mains, reconstruction of pumping stations and installation of meters – the tender documentation says.
As added, the Canton, working together with ViK Sarajevo, is seeking consultancy support to assist in the preparation of a Financial and Operational Performance Improvement Program ("FOPIP") - in order to promote improvements in the service quality alongside technical cooperation to support financial and operational management at ViK Sarajevo.
