Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin announced on Monday, October 23, 2017, that Berreta, with whose owner he talked in Milan, was interested in cooperation with Serbia in the field of defense industry.
– Beretta is interested in certain companies from our defense industry. We agreed to have more concrete negotiations by the end of the year, once the law on investments in the defense industry has been adopted to the end of enabling foreigners to invest in it – the minister of defense said.
In Milan, Vulin talked to Franco Beretta, owner of the renowned producer of arms and military equipment, for the purpose of, as the press release says, looking into the possibilities of establishing cooperation with the factories of the Serbian defense industry.
Vulin said that it was an excellent opportunity for investments, as “when Beretta arrives to a country and starts producing, it sends a signal to all global producers to come there as well”.
– Beretta is interested in cooperating with Zastava. They are very pleased with the skill of our workers and the inventiveness of our engineers, and we need investments in new production processes. Furthermore, they are interested in certain ammunition factories here – Vulin said.
According to the minister, once Serbia regulates the field, Beretta can be expected to become a part of the Serbian market and concrete investments can be negotiated.
