Nelt is interested in acquiring companies primarily in the food industry, but also Agrokor's companies in Serbia, and it is following the events around the concern, in which extraordinary management has been implemented, Milos Jelic, General Manager of Nelt Group, stated yesterday, as reported by Beta.

Jelic confirmed that Nelt took part in all regional negotiations aiming to stabilize the operations of Agrokor's companies and prevent a negative impact of events in Agrokor on the business sector.

Nelt, whose primary operations relate to distribution of consumer goods and tobacco and pharmaceutical products, plans to expand further and penetrate new markets, among which is Albania, Jelic said and added that the company operated in eight markets in the region and the countries of the European Union, but also in Angola, Zambia and Mozambique.

There are 13 companies within Nelt, one of which is the meat product industry Neoplanta in Novi Sad, which was supposed to get its own farm. As Jelic said, these plans have been put aside for now due to new circumstances in the meat industry in Serbia.

As the company reported yesterday, Nelt has had a steady growth in the markets it is active in this year, realizing total net revenues of EUR 900 million, a growth of 30% compared to last year. A more modest growth and investments of EUR 15 million in the regional expansion of the offer of integrated logistics services are planned for 2018.

– For now, the company has enough of its own capital to expand the operations and it is possible that we will enter the stock exchange in five to ten years – Jelic said, as reported by Beta.

Thanks to its excellent results and an increase in revenues by 50% in Serbia, Nelt placed among the 100 most successful SEE companies looking by total revenues and net profit for the first time this year, taking the 69th spot, the company's press release adds.
