Following the talks with the Board of Creditors, the Swiss company Batagon offered EUR 7 million for the purchase of Fabrika Akumulatora Sombor, twice as much compared to the price from the opening of the public bids, SOinfo reports.

It was agreed at the phone conference between the Board of Creditors and Batagon, in which the bankruptcy trustee also took part, that a new bid should be submitted, which the Swiss company did.

– They have offered EUR 7 million for the acquisition of ownership over FAS – said Predrag Ljubovic, bankruptcy trustee of FAS.

He said that it was at the same time the final offer by Batagon, as they emphasized at the phone conference that they would withdraw in case the price was rejected.

The banking guarantee for Batagon, filed in line with the public invitation for the purchase of the Sombor-based car battery plant, expires on October 19.

– If the Board of Creditors fails to accept the offer, it will not be good for either the factory or the creditors themselves. I hope that they have realized how serious the bidder is. I expect them to respond by the end of the week – Ljubovic said.

If the Board of Creditors rejects the offer, the bankruptcy trustee is expected to open another public invitation for the purchase of FAS as soon as possible.
