Belgrade visited by over 100,000 guests in August – Majority of guests come from Turkey
As reported by the Tourism Organization of Belgrade, the majority of guests (13,409) came from Turkey, followed by Germany, Greece, Romania and Italy, whereas the most considerable increase was recorded when it comes to guests from Israel and China.
Since the beginning of the year, a total of 664,533 tourists have been registered in Belgrade, of which 562,838 are foreign tourists, an increase by 20% compared to the corresponding period of 2016. The majority of guests in the first eight months came from Turkey, Germany, Croatia, Greece and Israel.
The total number of overnight stays realized in the accommodation capacities in Belgrade in the January-August period is 1,408,969, of which 1,136,616 were by foreign guests, an increase by 23%.
The 2017 statistics show a quintuple increase in the number of guests from Israel, the biggest growth percentage recorded so far regarding both arrivals and overnight stays. A total of 25,471 Israeli tourists have visited Belgrade since the beginning of the year, an increase of 461% compared to last year’s 4,541. With a tendency of further growth, Israel placed fifth looking by the number of guests.
Guests from China and Russia continue to realize a remarkably high percentage of growth, thanks to increased activities in these tourism markets. The markets of Turkey, Greece, Germany and other countries are also showing a tendency of growth.
