Works on expansion of Banatski Dvor storage to start in 2018

Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic stated today that the supply of Serbia with Russian gas would be certain and that the works on expanding the Banatski Dvor storage would begin next year.

Antic said that it was agreed that there was “absolute certainty of gas supply of Serbia” at the meeting he had had with Alexey Miller, CEO of Gazprom, the competent ministry announced today.

– I considered the expansion of the Banatski Dvor storage in Moscow with Mr Miller. We agreed that the technical solution will be defined by the end of the year and that the works will begin in 2018 – Antic announced.


Antic and Miller discussed the status and the future of the current bilateral cooperation, including the export of Russian gas to Serbia and storing it in the territory of Serbia.

It was said at the meeting that the delivery of Russian gas to Serbia in the first nine months of 2017 had grown by 31.7% compared to the period of January-September 2016.
