Turkish company Ormo to open factory in Lebane on November 8
As stated on the municipality's website, according to president Zoran Ilic, the yarn factory should start operating on November 8.
– We will do everything in our power to honor the deadlines and to have the factory open on November 8, the Day of the Municipality of Lebane. The tempo of the works is remarkably good and I hope we will continue in the same manner and that the deadlines will be honored.
The factory should employ 300 to 350 workers. However, the full capacity of wool processing, around 15 tons a day, requires 450 workers – Ilic said, as reported by the website.
As he added, depending on the degree of training and the speed with which people are trained, the number of workers will increase in the upcoming period.
– Ormo is ready to expand the volume of the production and everything is mostly in our hands – explained the president of the municipality of Lebane.
According to Goran Jovic, acting director of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Serbia of the Jablanica and Pcinja Districts, this will be the first newly opened factory in Lebane after 40 years.
– If the Turkish investor proves to be satisfied with the activities in Lebane, we will start negotiating with another textile company, as this area has both experts in the field of textile and the educational institutions which can provide more quality workforce – Jovic announced.
Let us remind that the president of the municipality of Lebane, Zoran Ilic, announced the arrival of the Turkish investor following the purchase of the former Exportext factory.
