Serbian prime minister at Economist gathering on November 30 in Hong Kong

At the invitation of the British magazine The Economist, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic will be one of the speakers at The World in 2018 conference, organized by the magazine on November 30 in Hong Kong, it was announced on The Economist's website.

This is one of the biggest annual events organized by the British magazine. It will bring together leaders in the world of business and politics and the most renowned world economists.

The conference in Hong Kong will be dedicated to global trends, from business to science and from politics to culture, and the prime minister of Serbia will talk, as expected, about political and economic reforms in the country and its efforts to join the European Union.

The official website of the London magazine says that one of the topics at the Hong Kong gathering will be the impact of the key elections in 2018 – whether the potential re-election of Russian President Vladimir Putin will “authorize” him to act more aggressively in Europe and the Middle East.

Other topics are: Will the results of China’s National Congress change the resolve of president Xi Jinping? Will the American electorate, in a vote of confidence or lack thereof, choose to re-elect a Republican majority in congress? And what will be the state of the European Union after a number of key continental elections? How will these political landmarks shape global issues such as the South China Sea dispute, global trade, energy prices and worldwide populist sentiments?
