Recycling unit for medical waste put into operation in Subotica - investment worth 7m EUR
The recycling center for medical waste, worth 7m EUR, was put into operation in hospital in Subotica on August 28. This recycling center is a part of the joint project of the Ministry of Health of Serbia and European Union.
This recycling medical center in Subotica, of which daily capacity is 1.5 tons of waste, will be processing waste from the health centers in the North Bačka region.
Subotica-based hospital also obtained one modernly equipped ambulance from the Ministry of Health for transportation of serious patients when long travel is necessary. This vehicle was handed to the hospital by the State Secretary of the authorized ministry, Tomislav Stankić.
At the celebration, the Manager of the hospital, Dr Goran Bićanin, pointed out that that was the first hospital in Serbia that was going to recycle medical waste in an up-to-date way.
