In addition to considerable salary raises for members of the Serbian Armed Forces, the plan is for the program of housing of 30,000 officers to be presented in the next 30 days, President Aleksandar Vucic said on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
Vucic explained that there were conditions for it, as the cities, primarily Belgrade and Novi Sad, but also Nis, had reduced their debts, enabling the construction of apartments for officers.
– There are negotiations with the government and the Ministry of Defense about solving the housing issue for around 30,000 officers in the upcoming years. In about thirty days, we, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, Minister Aleksandar Vulin and maybe myself as well, will present to the public a program featuring our solution to this issue – the president said.
Vucic also reminded that soldiers’ salaries had been raised on January 1, 2017.
