Transavia to double number of flights from Amsterdam to Belgrade
The introduction of three additional flights a week is planned for February 2018. Transavia currently flies between Amsterdam and Belgrade on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and Aviatica's unofficial findings say that the new flights are planned for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The information was confirmed to the portal by Transavia itself. They said that, during the winter regime, the number of flights to Belgrade would double and that all the details about the changes in the winter schedule would be published officially on September 20.
Transavia is a low-cost daughter company of the Air France-KLM Group with the base at the Amsterdam Airport. Belgrade was included in the company's destination network in early April 2017, and the great demand has now led to an increase in the number of flights. Transavia uses a Boeing 737-700 with 149 passenger seats in one class for its flights to Belgrade.
As Aviatica learns unofficially, the capacities of the airline's flights to and from Belgrade are well filled. With Transavia's arrival to Belgrade, Air Serbia and Wizz Air have gotten a new rival in the popular Dutch market.
The new flights are expected to lead to a further drop in the price of tickets to Holland. Air Serbia flies twice a day to Amsterdam and primarily transports the travelers who use the city as a stop on their way to intercontinental flights of KLM or Delta. Wizz Air, on the other hand, flies to Eindhoven two to four times a week, depending on the season, transporting the travelers for whom Holland is the end destination, Aviatica reports.
