The negotiations about the sale of the Zrenjaninsko, Petrovgradsko and Beckerecko beer brands to a big investment fund from the European Union have been in progress since late 2016, the zrenjaninski.com portal learns.

Sasa Zdrnja, the owner of these brands, which were registered at the Intellectual Property Office in 2010, confirmed the news about the initiation of the production of Zrenjaninsko Pivo in the town on the Bega only partially.

– It's true that there are negotiations with representatives of a big investment fund from the EU and that they have been in progress since December 2016. We are very close to reaching an agreement on the fund's taking over of the ownership over the Zrenjaninsko, Petrovgradsko and Beckerecko beer brands and initiating the production in a serious industrial facility, which would put Zrenjanin back on the beer map of Serbia – Zdrnja said.

He expects the investment to be considerable, given the size of the fund in question, and for Zrenjaninsko Pivo to take its place behind the three biggest beer production groups, becoming a respectable brand in the Serbian market.

The investors, as zrenjaninski.com reports, will visit Zrenjanin again in around fifteen days, when concrete announcements are expected to be made and more details revealed.
