Around EUR 236 million invested within free zones in Serbia in 2016 – Export amounts to EUR 2.15 billion
There are currently 14 free zones in Serbia – Pirot, Zrenjanin, Subotica, Novi Sad, Sabac, Uzice, Smederevo, Krusevac, FAS – Kragujevac, Nis – South, Apatin, Svilajnac, Vranje and Priboj. Over 200 multinational companies operate in them, of which 71 produce for export, with precisely 25,175 employees on the last day of 2016.
It's interesting to note that Serbian free zones are dominated by car component manufacturers, primarily cable producers. Of the big national companies, there's Fiat, Michelin, Continental, Yazaki, Lear, PKC, Siemens, Swarovski, Panasonic, Copper Mill Sevojno and Impol Seval.
