Locations defined for 15 partners of company "Fiat" in Kragujevac, 75 ha of land for construction of new factories

Representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Assembly of city of Kragujevac and "Zastava" have decided to prepare 75 ha of land in Korman field by the end of the year and, thus, make it possible for "Fiat's" ten most significant suppliers of spare parts to have their factories built.

"Fiat's" five main suppliers, one of which is "Marelli", will be settled on "Zastava's" factory grounds, first of all, in the halls for mechanical processing.

According to the memorandum of cooperation between Kragujevac and "Fiat”, Italian automobile manufacturer should get a free land for expansion of capacities. In the meantime, the city finished two industrial zones on hills Denino Brdo and Metino Brdo for that purpose. But, that is not enough for about 30 partners who expressed the wish to open their units in Kragujevac.

In its search for new building land, the city has started an initiative for the approval of purchase of land in Divostin and Grošnica, where barracks used to be settled, in order to meet the demands of Italian companies.

That idea was deserted because all sides accepted to help organization of the Korman field, which "Zastava" bought from local peasants in the early 1980's.

The city and the state of Serbia should also organize and prepare infrastructure for the land along main road Kragujevac – Batočina, about 8 km away from the city core.
