Sonja Sarkozi new member of Sberbank Europe Executive Board
As stated in Sberbank's press release, in the past years, Sonja Sarkozi has successfully led easybank AG as its CEO. Thanks to her, Austria's Direct Bank has developed into an all encompassing bank for retail operations, with over 570,000 accounts opened.
At Sberbank Europe, Sonja Sarkozi will be heading the development and the implementation of successful digital strategy in the group, while streamlining the strategic efficiency of the retail sales strategy in Central and Eastern Europe and Germany, optimizing brand awareness and maximizing the usage of synergies in all markets of Sberbank Europe Group.
– It has always been my guiding principle to recognize, understand and anticipate the client’s needs in order to offer simple, intuitive and accessible products and services using the latest digital possibilities. My experience has shown me that intense and open communication with customers and employees makes the customer service experience real and leads to high client satisfaction. I am looking forward to support Sberbank Europe’s retail business towards its further sustainable growth – adds Sonja Sarkozi.
In 2016, retail banking activities within Sberbank Europe contributed more than 40% to the total net profit of this group. Sberbank Europe increased its pool of active clients by 11%, from 604,000 in 2015 to 673,000 at the end of 2016, as a result of a successful acquisition of new retail clients in CEE, the press release says.
As added, as of August 1, 2017, the Management Board of Sberbank Europe consists of five members: Gerhard Randa (CEO), Arndt Rochling (CFO), Sonja Sarkozi (Chief Retail Banking Officer), Stefan Zapotocky (Corporate Banking) and Alexey Bogatov (CRO/CIO).
